The cardboard teaching resources at Learning from Play have been specifically designed based on the requirements of the Foundation Phase. Combining Early Years Learning and Key Stage 1, the Foundation Phase includes children aged 3 – 7 years. This stage of the National Curriculum focuses education around the format of Learning Through Play. The concept is based on proven results that experiential and active learning is most effective. Experiencing the world and taking an active role in learning through playing, provides children with an effective learning platform before moving on to more advanced schooling in the later Key Stages. Having fun discovering different materials when decorating the cardboard structures can be incorporated into children’s arts and crafts lessons. Producing a puppet show works towards the objectives of dramatic play, enhancing language and listening skills, whilst the children’s attention is captured by exciting story lines!
