Cardboard Activities
Learning from Play are experts in manufacturing corrugated cardboard so it didn’t take us long to start thinking outside the box... We realised that there is much more to cardboard than what we initially thought. After lots of hard work, creativity and most importantly, imagination, our designers came up with more than just a cardboard box... Learning from Play is proud to present our fun cardboard activities for children!
By working with primary school teachers and children to develop the cardboard activities, you can be sure that all of the product range at Learning from Play is to the very best standard, as they have been approved by the most important people!
Designed for children aged 3 – 7 years, the Learning from Play cardboard activities are not just for use in schools. They also make excellent activities at children’s parties, play groups and nurseries, arts & crafts clubs and anywhere else your imagination takes you! With a variety of Themes to choose from – from Pirate Ships & Travel to Space Travel, Puppet Theatre to Oceans, and Quiet Zone to Seashore – there is sure to be something to suit everyone and everything, for every occasion! See Educational Themed Resources to read how all our Themes are based on the learning objectives of the Foundation Phase.
Learning from Play cardboard activities are all supplied in flat-packed form. As deceiving as they may seem on arrival, the children’s activities transform into hours of fun and learning as soon as you open the box! All of our products come with step-by-step, easy-to-follow instructions, making assembling the items a fun activity in itself! Suitable for children of the higher end of the Foundation Phase to comprehend, assembling the larger cardboard activities make a great task for a small group, whilst the smaller cardboard models make an excellent project for individuals. (Learning from Play recommends adult supervision to ensure correct assembly of the items).
Due to the pop-out nature of the cardboard designs, Learning from Play kids’ activities always produce some left over cardboard. Various customers’ feedback provided us with the fantastic idea of using this cardboard to create accessories and other arts and crafts materials for children’s activities! Our designers have incorporated this when developing the Large Puppet Theatre. Instead of wasting the left-over cardboard, it includes everything you need to play “Pin the Tail on the Donkey!” What ideas will you think of for the left-over parts on your cardboard activities?
Once assembled, Learning from Play cardboard activities provide a blank canvas to decorate and personalise – enabling each cardboard structure to be unique! Ideal for arts and crafts sessions, the cardboard activities can be painted, glittered, glued and almost anything else your creativity leads you to! For more ideas on what to use to decorate your cardboard activity, check our Advice and Information page.
When your cardboard activities are assembled and decorated to their full glory, they make excellent role-play props but can be used for just about anything!
